Job Description
As the Chief on ship, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of the ship ensuring the safety and efficiency of all activities onboard. You will lead a team of crew members and work closely with the ship's captain to ensure smooth sailing and adherence to maritime regulations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supervise and coordinate the work of the ship's crew members. 2. Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are followed at all times. 3. Oversee the maintenance and repair of the ship's machinery and equipment. 4. Manage inventory and supplies needed for the ship's operations. 5. Implement and enforce company policies and procedures onboard. 6. Communicate effectively with the captain and other crew members to ensure smooth operations.
Skills & Experience
1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role aboard ships. 2. Valid certification as a Chief Engineer or similar. 3. Proficiency in maritime laws and regulations. 4. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. 5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 6. Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
